Richard G. Sesler

Founding Partner

Mr. Sesler (“Dick”) is a co-founder of Centerlane Capital, helps lead the overall strategic direction of the firm and is a member of its Investment Committee. Prior, he was a founding principal of Guggenheim Real Estate with responsibilities for capital raising and identification of local operating partners. He also served on the firm’s investment committee.

Prior to joining Guggenheim, Mr. Sesler was Managing Partner of Faison Capital Advisors, serving as fiduciary managing real estate assets on behalf of tax-exempt investors, foreign institution and high net worth individuals.

During his 35 year real estate career, Mr. Sesler has acquired on behalf of clients a diverse universe of real estate assets, including non-performing properties, discounted notes, mezzanine loans, CMBS and CDO’s, development joint ventures and limited partnership interests. He has been the founding partner of three real estate investment and finance organizations in addition to co-founding Centerlane Capital.

Mr. Sesler is the founder of Camp Blue Skies Foundation, a 501(c) 3 non-profit whose mission is to enhance the lives of adults with developmental disabilities through recreation, socialization and life skills education. Mr. Sesler is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University with an MBA from Washington University of St. Louis.

Joseph W. Taylor

Founding and Managing Partner

Mr. Taylor (“Joe”) is a co-founder of Centerlane Capital, leads the overall strategic direction of the firm and is a member of its Investment Committee. In addition, he is responsible for sourcing and maintaining investor and capital relationships.

Prior to co-founding Centerlane Capital, he was Vice President of Investor Relations for Grubb Properties, a 50 year old real estate development and investment company with over 2 billion in transactions. During his tenure, Mr. Taylor led the overall capital raise for four private equity real estate investment funds which invested in a total of $478 million in transactions, 4,360 multifamily units and over 1 million commercial square feet.

Mr. Taylor is a licensed North Carolina Real Estate Broker and holds two securities licenses (Series 7 and Series 66). He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Crisis Assistance Ministry, is an Elder at Covenant Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Leadership Charlotte. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

M. Laughton Jones, Jr.

Partner

Mr. Jones (“Laughton”) leads Centerlane’s underwriting and investment analysis for new opportunities and is a member of its Investment Committee. In addition, he plays key roles in deal sourcing, asset management, capital, and investor relationships. He has over 10 years’ experience in commercial real estate with a focus on finance, acquisitions, and development.

Prior to joining Centerlane, Mr. Jones was a Senior Investment Associate with Terwilliger Pappas Multifamily Partners where he focused on the capitalization and disposition of over $700 million in real estate development investment throughout the Southeast.

Mr. Jones serves on the Urban Land Institute’s Young Leaders Regional Council and is Vice-Chair of the ULI Charlotte Membership Committee. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business from North Carolina State University and his master’s degree in Real Estate Finance and Development from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
